Floriculture

From identifying plants and diseases to executing arrangements this event has it all.

The purpose of this event is to stimulate the study of and interest in production and retailing of flowers, plants and foliage through the agricultural education curriculum.

  • NY Contest Description: Teams should consist of four members and each member should wear proper official dress. Every team member will complete the team activity, a general knowledge exam, identification of plant materials, and identification of plant disorders. One member from each team will complete a floral arrangement practicum (round arrangement) and is responsible for making and packaging a corsage. The individual completing the design practicum must have their own florist shears/tools.
